Furniture: Wayfair management
A twenty-year-old Canadian designer and importer of furniture came to Looking Glass Group with less than 5% of sales online. Five years later online is more than 70% of the business, Wayfair.com alone is a $10MM+ account and the online catalogue has grown from about 100 SKUs to more than 900.

Sinks, fixtures and vanities: third party platform management
A Canadian importer of sinks, bathroom fixtures and vanities sold mainly to hotels, condominium developers and cruise ships and had no online channel. Looking Glass Group defined a full ecommerce channel plan and then ran it, and every managed account grew more than 200% year over year for three straight years.

Plumbing supplies: Amazon management
A plumbing manufacturer’s CEO saw Amazon as the cheapest way to find out whether the US market wanted the products. Looking Glass Group sized the prize, set up the account, listed more than 100 items with full content and built the net-sale model for every SKU, and the pilot is exceeding the KPIs it was given.
margin improvement and a 130% growth opportunity identified
Ecommerce CPG strategy
A consumer packaged goods brand had handed its Amazon business to a distributor and could not see inside it. Looking Glass Group assessed the channel and delivered a strategy to take it back, with a 35% margin improvement and a 130% growth opportunity over three years identified and an organization structure to run it.

DIY brand: Amazon growth beyond retail
A DIY brand that sold well through traditional retailers needed a channel that could grow beyond them. Frequently asked questions
What does an ecommerce advisory firm actually do?
We assess where your online sales opportunity is, fix what is broken and then run the channel day to day: listings and content, pricing and promotions, advertising and retail media, inventory and forecasting, and the reporting that tells you whether it is working. On the retail-first platforms we also manage the buyer relationship.
Which platforms do you manage?
Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, Wayfair, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, Overstock and the Mirakl-powered marketplaces behind retailers like Best Buy. We take a channel view rather than an Amazon-only view, because share and margin usually move fastest when the platforms are managed together.
How does your pricing work?
Assessment and roadmap work is a project fee. Ongoing management is performance based: a monthly minimum fee against a commission on net sales, whichever is greater. That keeps the risk of entering or expanding a channel low for you and ties our income to your growth rather than hours billed. If you go on to run the roadmap with us, a portion of the consulting fee is generally credited toward the monthly minimums.
What kind of results should we expect?
We have managed more than $50MM in online sales across 15+ product categories, with an average of 3x revenue growth per client. Results vary with category, starting position and inventory, so we give you a realistic view of your specific opportunity before you commit to anything.
We are new to ecommerce. Is it too early to work with you?
No. For companies not yet selling online, or selling badly, we start with a channel assessment: which platforms fit your products, what the economics look like, what entry costs and what has to be true for you to win. You get a clear plan before any ongoing engagement, and about six weeks is the usual timeline.
Where are you based, and who do you work with?
We are based in Toronto at 33 Bloor Street East and work with clients across North America and Europe. We support clients selling into North America from anywhere in the world.
