The short answer: Wayfair does not publish one. Amazon prints its inbound deadlines. Wayfair makes you build your own. Work backwards from its fall Way Day sale in late October, through CastleGate receiving and Golden Week, and the last comfortable production week for most suppliers is in September.
I spent a morning this month building a Wayfair Q4 calendar with a client. Here is the math we used.
Start from the sale
Wayfair's biggest event of the year is fall Way Day and it lands in late October every year. Last year it ran Oct 26 to 29. Wayfair usually announces the dates a couple of weeks ahead, which is far too late to plan inventory around, so plan for late October and adjust when the announcement comes.
Work backwards
Inventory needs to be in CastleGate and badged before the traffic shows up. Call it received by Oct 12. Receiving slows down in peak, so containers need to hit port in the first week of October. Chinese factories close for Golden Week that same week, which means anything not produced by late September ships in mid October at the earliest. That puts your last comfortable production week in September. Freight for anything already produced should be booked now.
Received means received. Not on the water, not at the port. Same rule as Amazon.
Why the badge is worth the effort
Wayfair's own numbers put the fast-delivery badge at a conversion lift north of 60%. Badges come from forward-positioned inventory in CastleGate, not from your own warehouse working harder. If your product is not badged for Way Day, you are competing against listings that convert at more than half again your rate.
Two numbers while you are in there
CastleGate storage is free for the first 90 days. Stock that lands in early October and sells through Way Day and Black Friday costs you nothing to hold. The CastleGate rate card also changed on July 1, so any margin math you did in the spring is stale and needs a second look.
Dropship suppliers are not off the hook
Wayfair expects 98% on-time for small parcel and 97% for large parcel, and Q4 volume is exactly what breaks those numbers. If you ship from your own warehouse, the deadline is the day your on-time rate starts to slip, and in most years that is the first week of November.
Save this for your Wayfair planning file and re-check it the day Way Day is announced.
